On March 23, 2020, the Digital Italy Authority published the guidelines on the electronic signature of documents pursuant to Article 20 of the Electronic Signature Act. These guidelines regulate a new method for electronically signing digital documents through simple authentication in the so-called public digital identity management system for citizens and companies. The public digital identity system (SPID) is a simple, fast and secure access key to the digital services of local and central administrations.
