The process works as follows: A user starts the identification process directly in your application, for example in a customer portal or when registering for a new service. The user is offered various options via sproof Ident directly or a native flow:

- Auto-Ident: a guided smartphone process in which ID documents and a short selfie check confirm identity

With auto-ident verification, the user is guided through the process with her smartphone, during which she has to scan the front and back of her ID document as well as a live image of her face (liveness detection).
